Description

This talk will focus on sensor technologies and their role in IoT system design and applications. The speaker will present some of his recent multi-disciplinary projects and how state-of-the-art sensor technologies can be utilized to improve efficiency, reliability and reduce cost. These applications include species-at-risk tracking, environment monitoring, smart homes, smart grid control, food traceability, smart cities, water distribution and quality monitoring, healthcare, greenhouse control, and intelligent transportation systems. The talk will highlight future research in this field and how it can contribute to communities that are culturally vibrant, technologically smart and connected, healthy, environmentally conscious and sustainable, safe and secure, economically successful and well-governed.
